Under the influence of an Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation over East Srilanka Coast & neighborhood a Low Pressure area has developed over the Southwest Bay of Bengal. This is being monitored as 93B.INVEST.

The trough of Low at mean sea level over Southeast & adjoining Southwest Arabian sea with an Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation aloft extending up to 0.9 km above mean sea level persists.

The Western Disturbance as an Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation over North Pakistan & neighborhood   extending   up to   3.1   km   above   mean   sea   level   with   trough   aloft   along Long.63.0°E and North of Latitude 30.0°N. An induced Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation over Central Pakistan & neighborhood extending up to 0.9 km above mean sea level persists.

Forecast: 24th to 31st October 2015

There is differing outcome by two forecast models GFS and ECMWF for the further development of the Bay of Bengal Low Pressure and also the forecast Low Pressure over the Arabian Sea.  The latest 1200 UTC GSF is leaning towards ECMWF 00 UTC run outcome. Update will be given in 24 hours.

 The Western Disturbance will give heavy snowfall for Jammu & Kashmir and hilly regions of North India and rain for the plains of North Indian States during 24th to 26th October.
