Southwest monsoon has set in over Kerala today, i.e. 6th June 2014. The southwest monsoon has further advanced into most parts of south Arabian sea and Kerala, remaining parts of Maldives-Comorin areas, some parts of Tamilnadu, most parts of southwest Bay of Bengal and some parts of westcentral Bay of Bengal.
The northern limit of monsoon passes through 12.0°N/60.0°E, 12.0°N/70.0°E, 12.0°N/74.0°E, Kozhikode, Coimbatore, Cuddalore , 13.0°N/83.0°E, 16.0°N/87.0°E, 18.0°N/90.0°E and 21.0°N/92.0°E.
Conditions are becoming favorable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into remaining parts of south Arabian sea, some parts of central Arabian sea, remaining parts of Kerala, some parts of south Karnataka, some more parts of Tamilnadu and Bay of Bengal during next 2-3 days. conditions continue to remain favourable for further advance of Southwest monsoon into some parts of northeastern state during next 48 hours.

દક્ષીણ પશ્ચિમ ચોમાસું દક્ષીણ અરબી સમુદ્ર માં 12 ડીગ્રી N. સુધી પોંચ્યું. કેરલા માં કોઝીકોડ તેમજ તમિલનાડુ ના કડ્લોર સુધી આજે પોંચ્યું. ચોમાસા એ દક્ષીણ પશ્ચિમ બંગાળની ખાડી ના મહત્તમ ભાગ ને આવરી લીધો અને પશ્ચિમ મધ્ય બંગાળ ની ખાડી માં પણ દાખલ થયું.

Forecast: 6th to 12th June
Kerala, Goa & Coastal Karnataka will receive off & on Rainfall during the forecast period with varying amounts of 5 Cm. to 15 Cms. while Interior Karnataka will receive 2 Cms. to 5 Cms. Rainfall during the forecast period. For areas where monsoon has not set in Rainfall will be considered pre-monsoon rainfall till the onset of monsoon.
Konkan will receive off & on Rainfall during the forecast period with varying amounts of 2 Cms. to 5 Cm. while rest of Maharashtra will receive up to 3 Cms. Rainfall during the forecast period. Rainfall will be considered pre-monsoon rainfall till the onset of monsoon.
Saurashtra, & Gujarat: 6th to 9th June
Marginal relief from hot weather over Saurashtra, Kutch and Gujarat, however, the relief will be less over Gujarat.
