Depression Over Arabian Sea – Convective Clouds Reaches Oman Coast

Current Weather Conditions on 31st October 2011 @ 4.00 pm.

The Depression over West Central Arabian Sea has tracked Northwestward and lay centered this evening near Latitude 16N and Longitude 58.5E, about 300 km Southeast Oman Coast.

The Convective clouds associated with this System have reached Oman Coast are spread over a very Large area across more than 1500 Kms.

The System is expected to move further Northwestwards away from West coast of India. A part of the convective clouds associated with this System could move towards Pakistan Coast after two days. On some days parts of the cloud swirls could come over Saurashtra & Kutch. Hence, there is possibility of some showers/rain on one or two days up to 4th November.

The Northeast Monsoon has commenced over Tamilnadu on 24th. Normally the South Bay of Bengal should be active, however, the Arabian Sea is expected to be more active for the next ten days.
