Possibility Of Unseasonal Rain Shower/Thunder Over Saurashtra

Current Weather Conditions on 17th October 2011 @ 2.00 pm.

A Low Pressure area has formed over East Central Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood with associated Cyclonic Circulation that extends up to Mid Tropospheric levels.

The Maximum Temperatures over Saurashtra & Gujarat have been 3 to 5 Degrees above normal. The highest Maximum Temperature in India was in Surendranagar recording 39.5 Degrees C. Rajkot has been hovering around 37.5 to 38.5 degrees C. for last few days. The winds are mainly from the Northerly direction. The humidity at ground level has decreased.

Forecast:
The Bay of Bengal Low Pressure could become well marked during the next 24 to 48 hours. It would affect west Bengal and neighbouring areas.

Saurashtra & Gujarat:

The Maximum Temperatures are expected to remain above normal for the next two days. The Humidity at ground level is low however, at 3 Kms. above ground it will increase. The winds will change directions erratically for the next two days. There is possibility of Isolated Thunder/shower over Saurashtra & South Gujarat during the next 48 hours. There is no System affecting Saurashtra currently.
