The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) continues to pass through Lat. 21°N / Long. 60°E, Lat.21°N / Long. 65°E, Veraval, Surat, Indore, Shivpuri, Alwar, Bikaner and Lat.28°N / Long. 72°E.

 The low pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal off west Bengal and Odisha coasts now lies over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of Gangetic west Bengal and Odisha. Associated cyclonic circulation extends upto 7.6 kms a.s.l. tilting southwestwards with height.

The off shore trough at mean sea level from Gujarat coast to Kerala coast persists.

There is an Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation over Saurashtra/Gujarat and vicinity at 3.1 kms. above mean sea level.

The indicates that a East West Shear zone will be created when the UAC from the Bay of Bengal will travels inland over Central India. The Western end of the shear zone will be over Saurashtra/Gujarat.

South Gujarat:12th July to 18th July 2014

South Gujarat expected to receive Rainfall on various days of the forecast period with cumulative Rainfall amount of 10 Cm. to 15 Cms. Some isolated places could receive up to 20 Cms.

Central Gujarat: 12th July to 18th July 2014

Central Gujarat expected to receive Rainfall on various days of the forecast period with cumulative Rainfall amount of 5 Cm. to 10 Cms.

North Gujarat: 12th July to 18th July 2014

North Gujarat expected to receive Rainfall on various days of the forecast period with cumulative Rainfall amount of 3 Cm. to 10 Cms. The quantum could vary depending on the outcome of the Bay of Bengal Low Pressure System.
