SW Monsoon Covers Northeastern States -Expected To Set In Over Mumbai By 9th June

Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of northwest and most parts of northeast Bay of Bengal, most parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Assam & Meghalaya, entire Arunachal Pradesh and some parts of SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim. The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) passes through Lat. 18.0° N / Long. 60.0° E, Lat. 18.0° N / Long. 70.0° E, Harnai, Parbhani, Ramgundam, Vishakhapatnam, Lat. 18.0° N / Long. 87.0°E and Lat. 21.0° N / Long. 90.0°E, Aizwal, Guwahati, Cooch Behar and Gangtok.

Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into remaining parts of central Arabian Sea, some parts of north Arabian Sea, some more parts of Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada, some parts of Vidarbha, south Chhattisgarh, south Odisha, remaining parts of Andhra Pradesh, Bay of Bengal, Assam & Meghalaya, Sikkim and some parts of West Bengal during next 2-3 days.

Forecast: 7th June to 10th June

Monsoon will set in over Mumbai and rest of Konkan by 9th June.

Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch:

Conditions are improving before onset of Southwest Monsoon over Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat.  The Humidity has increased considerably which indicates the Monsoon is round the corner. The Pre-Monsoon activity has also increased and is expected to increase both in the areas covered and quantum of rain during the forecast period.
