The Maximum Temperatures have shot up over Saurashtra even though there is partly cloudy weather. yesterday the Maximum at Rajkot was 42.3 degrees C. which is about 3 Degrees C. above normal for this time of the year. Today the Maximum at Rajkot is expected to be around 43 Degrees C. Scattered rain has been reported yesterday at many places in Saurashtra & Gujarat.
Monsoon trough runs along Konkan to Kerala Coast. Southwest Monsoon has reached upto 18N on the Arabian Sea Coast today. There is an UAC off Konkan Coast same location of 98A.INVEST.

Mean while as per IMD Mid-Day Bulletin of 4th June:
The southwest monsoon has further advance over some more parts of Central Arabian Sea, Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra and interior Karnataka.
The northern limit of monsoon (NLM) passes through 18.0°N/60.0°E, 16.0°N/70.0°E, Alibag, Pune, Bijapur, Anantapur, Nellore, 15.0°N/85.0°E, 17.0°N/90.0°E and 20.0°N/94.0°E.
Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon over some more parts of central Arabian Sea, Maharashtra (including Mumbai) and Karnataka and some parts of south Gujarat region during next 2 days and over some more parts of Bay of Bengal and some parts of northeastern states during next 3 days.

Forecast:
Scattered rain/showers expected to continue in a hit or miss fashion over Saurashtra & Gujarat. Maximum Temperatures will remain high for next two days. Onset of Southwest Monsoon over Saurashtra & Gujarat will depend upon the outcome of the weak Low Pressure in the Arabian Sea just West of Konkan Coast. IMD does not mention anything about the Low Pressure. However, they refer to UAC in the same region. Things will be clear by Monday the 6th June. GFS forecast model is showing the Low Pressure creeping close to Saurashtra coast on 6th & 7th June.
