Southwest Monsoon Expected To Advance Over South Andaman Sea And Nicobar Islands & Parts Of South East Bay Of Bengal Around 15th/16th May 2017

Current Weather Conditions On 12th May 2017

 

Hot weather continued last week over Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch with some centers having near Heat Wave conditions. However, none of the centers reached 45.0 C during the last forecast period. There was scattered un-seasonal rain/hail accompanied with thunder at Rajkot and nearby areas on 11th May 2017.

There is an Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation over South Andaman Sea and vicinity at 700 hPa (3.1 kms above mean sea level ).

Weather Forecast 12th May To 19th May 2017

Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch:

Hot weather conditions to prevail till 16th over most parts except Western Saurashtra. Gujarat & adjoining areas will have more hot centers ranging 42 C to 44 C. Maximum Temperature will ease by 1 to 2 C to 40 C to 42 C during 17th to 19th. However, limited pockets will remain above normal in the range 42 C to 44 C. Winds are expected to be mainly from the West and some times from Northwest & from Southwest. Morning humidity will remain high at 80% and evening humidity around 20%.
