Light to Moderate Rainfall Expected Over Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat With Varying Coverage During 17th–23rd September 2026

Few parameters from IMD Morning Bulletin — 17th September 2026:

Conditions are becoming favorable for the withdrawal of the Southwest Monsoon from some parts of West Rajasthan around 19th September 2026.

The Low Pressure Area over Saurashtra & adjoining Northeast Arabian Sea persisted over the same region at 0530 hrs IST of 17th September 2026. The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level, tilting southwards with height.

The Monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through the center of the Low Pressure Area over Saurashtra & adjoining Northeast Arabian Sea, Bikaner, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Patna, Bankura, Digha and thence southeastwards to the Northeast Bay of Bengal.

A fresh Western Disturbance, seen as a trough in the middle-tropospheric westerlies, with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level, runs roughly along Long. 64°E to the north of Lat. 28°N.

Expected Parameter: Before the end of this forecast period, a Low Pressure Area is expected to form over the Bay of Bengal.

Weather Forecast for Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch (17th–23rd September 2026)

Overall: Light to Moderate Rainfall prospects are still there for Gujarat State during the forecast period due to the remmanant Low Pressure and associated UAC/trough at 850 hPa and 700 hPa.

Gujarat Region

• Rainfall: Light to Moderate rainfall is likely over parts of Gujarat Region on different days of the forecast period, with varying coverage.
• 50% of the area is expected to receive up to 25 mm of total rainfall during the forecast period.
• The remaining 50% of the area is expected to receive 25–50 mm of total rainfall during the forecast period, with isolated locations receiving more than 50 mm of total rainfall.

Saurashtra & Kutch

• Rainfall: Light to Moderate rainfall is likely on different days of the forecast period, with varying coverage.
• 50% of the area is expected to receive up to 25 mm of total rainfall during the forecast period.
• The remaining 50% of the area is expected to receive 25–50 mm of total rainfall during the forecast period, with isolated locations receiving more than 75 mm of total rainfall.

19 સપ્ટેમ્બર 2026ની આસપાસ પશ્ચિમ રાજસ્થાનના કેટલાક વિસ્તારોમાંથી દક્ષિણપશ્ચિમ ચોમાસાની વિદાય માટે પરિસ્થિતિઓ અનુકૂળ બની રહી છે.

સૌરાષ્ટ્ર અને તેને અડીને આવેલા ઉત્તરપૂર્વ અરબી સમુદ્ર પરનું લો પ્રેશર એરિયા 17 સપ્ટેમ્બર 2026ના રોજ સવારે 0530 કલાકે IST મુજબ એ જ વિસ્તારમાં યથાવત રહ્યું હતું. તેની સાથે સંકળાયેલું સાયક્લોનિક સર્ક્યુલેશન સમુદ્ર સપાટીથી 5.8 કિમી સુધીની ઊંચાઈ સુધી વિસ્તરેલું છે અને ઊંચાઈ સાથે દક્ષિણ તરફ ઝૂકેલું છે.

સમુદ્ર સપાટી પરની મોન્સૂન ટ્રફ હવે સૌરાષ્ટ્ર અને તેને અડીને આવેલા ઉત્તરપૂર્વ અરબી સમુદ્ર પરના લો પ્રેશર એરિયાના કેન્દ્રમાંથી પસાર થઈને બીકાનેર, બરેલી, ગોરખપુર, પટના, બાંકુરા, દીઘા અને ત્યાંથી દક્ષિણપૂર્વ તરફ ઉત્તરપૂર્વ બંગાળની ખાડી સુધી વિસ્તરાયેલી છે.

એક નવું વેસ્ટર્ન ડિસ્ટર્બન્સ મધ્ય-ટ્રોપોસ્ફેરિક પશ્ચિમી પવનોમાં ટ્રફના સ્વરૂપમાં જોવા મળી રહ્યું છે. તેની ધરી સમુદ્ર સપાટીથી 5.8 કિમીની ઊંચાઈએ, આશરે 28°N અક્ષાંશની ઉત્તરે 64°E રેખાંશની આસપાસ આવેલી છે.

અપેક્ષિત પરિબળ: આ આગાહી સમયગાળાના અંત પહેલા બંગાળની ખાડી પર એક નવું લો પ્રેશર એરિયા બનવાની શક્યતા છે.

સૌરાષ્ટ્ર, ગુજરાત અને કચ્છ માટે હવામાન આગાહી (17થી 23 સપ્ટેમ્બર 2026)

એકંદરે: આગાહી સમયગાળા દરમિયાન ગુજરાત રાજ્યમાં બાકી રહેલા લો પ્રેશર અને તેની સાથે સંકળાયેલા 850 hPa તથા 700 hPa પરના UAC/ટ્રફને કારણે હળવાથી મધ્યમ વરસાદની શક્યતાઓ હજુ યથાવત છે.

ગુજરાત રિજિયન

• વરસાદ: આગાહી સમયગાળા દરમિયાન અલગ-અલગ દિવસોએ ગુજરાત રિજિયનના કેટલાક વિસ્તારોમાં હળવાથી મધ્યમ વરસાદની શક્યતા છે, જેમાં વરસાદના વ્યાપમાં વિવિધતા રહેશે.
• આગાહી સમયગાળા દરમિયાન 50% વિસ્તારમાં કુલ 25 મિમી સુધી વરસાદ પડવાની શક્યતા છે.
• બાકીના 50% વિસ્તારમાં કુલ 25–50 મિમી વરસાદ પડવાની શક્યતા છે, જ્યારે છૂટાછવાયા સ્થળોએ 50 મિમીથી વધુ કુલ વરસાદ પડી શકે છે.
