Arabian Sea System Stregthens To A Depression

Current Weather Conditions on 23rd October 2012 @ 10.30 pm.

The Low Pressure area in the Arabian Sea has strengthened two notches to a Depression.

As per JTWC at 1200z (5.30 pm. IST) was located at 11.3N & 62.3 E.  about 1500 Kms. West of Kerala Coast and 1200 Kms. East of Somalia Coast.  1007 Mb Pressure with winds of 20 knots.

Dated: 23.10. 2012 Time of issue: 2000 hours IST

 Sub: Depression over southeast Arabian Sea.

The depression over southeast and adjoining southwest and central Arabian Sea moved west-northwestwards and lay centred at 1730 hrs IST of today, the 23rd October, 2012 near latitude 11.50N and longitude 64.0.0E, about 950 km west-northwest of Amini Divi (Lakshadweep). The system is likely to intensify further into a deep depression during next 24 hrs. It would move west-northwestwards for some more time and then westwards towards Somalia coast during next 48 hrs.

Under the influence of this system, no adverse weather is likely along and off west coast of India and Lakshadweep area as the system would move away from Indian coast.
