Conditions Improve For Rainfall Over Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat

Current Weather Conditions on 2nd September 2011 @ 2.00 pm.

The Low Pressure area from Bay of Bengal/Orissa has tracked West Northwestwards and now lies over Madhya Pradesh and vicinity. The Low Pressure area over Arabian Sea off Saurashtra coast has tracked towards Saurashtra. The axis of monsoon trough at mean sea level passes through Center of Low Pressure area, Okha, Baroda, Hoshangabad, Center of Low Pressure area, Puri and thence to Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. The off shore trough from Gujarat coast to Kerala coast persists.

There has been Scattered rain/showers over Saurashtra and Fairly widespread rain over Gujarat.

Periods of sunshine has increased during the last two days and hence the Maximum Temperatures have also increased.

Above average Rainfall for North India during the week 31st August to 6th September 2011



Forecast: Up to 4th September

Both the Low Pressures will merge over Gujarat and M.P. by tomorrow.

Scattered rain/showers for Saurashtra with isolated medium/heavy rain for Western Saurashtra and Coastal areas of Saurashtra. Kutch & North Gujarat will get medium rain with isolated heavy rain till 4th September.
