Cyclone PHET Crosses Back To Arabian Sea After Traversing Over Oman

Current Weather Conditions on 4th June @ 8.00 pm IST

Cyclone Phet current location is 23.0N 59.6E having crossed over to the Arabian Sea from the Northern area of Oman close to SUR. Winds are 115 Kms./Hour gusting to 140 Kms/Hour with Central pressure of about 974 Mb. Cyclone PHET crossed the Eastern Oman Coast and tracked Northerly direction and again is currently over the Arabian Sea North of Oman. Forecast models are predicting the track to be towards Pakistan Coast after 24 hours.

Heavy rains and winds forecast for Eastern & Northern Oman till 5th June 2010. People should be vigilant and take precautions about very windy conditions as well as flash flooding.

Currently maximum risk is for Oman, however, it is important for other Countries such as Iran, Pakistan & India to be watchful and closely monitor PHET for its intensity and its track.

Saurashtra & Gujarat:
Even though the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm PHET is about 1100 Kms. from Saurashtra Coast, since now it is expected to track towards Pakistan Coast so expect Windy conditions and Scattered Hit & Miss Rain for Saurashtra from the moisture incursion from Arabian Sea when the System nears Pakistan.
