Unseasonal Rain Alert For Saurashtra & Gujarat

Current Weather Conditions on 8th November 2010 @ 4.00 pm.

Very Severe Cyclonic Storm JAL weakened considerably before landfall over North Tamilnadu last night. This System is tracking North Westwardly direction over South Andhra Pradesh & Karnataka. It will reemerge over Arabian Sea after crossing South Maharashtra by tomorrow morning as 1008 Mb. However, there will be Cyclonic Circulation associated with with this System at Mid-Upper Level. Continuing to track North Westwardly, it is expected to come in the vicinity of South Western Saurashtra by 10th Morning.

Farmers should be vigilant to take precautions to safeguard their crop, especially Groundnut & Cotton.

Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat:
In the presence of Cyclonic Circulation at Upper Level, unseasonal rainfall is expected during 9th to 12th November 2010. There is a possibility of Rainfall over parts of Madhya Pradesh and South Rajasthan too.

Various Forecast models have been observed for the track of remnant of Cyclone "JAL" and the majority of them leads the track towards Saurashtra & Gujarat during 9th to 12th November.
