The Low Pressure area that has persisted for many days over Uttar Pradesh and vicinity now lies over Southeast Uttar Pradesh & vicinity with associated Cyclonic Circulation extending up to Mid-tropospheric levels.

The Western end of the monsoon trough continues to pass close to foot hills of Himalayas.
The Eastern end passes through Kheri, Center of Low Pressure area, Gaya, Berhrampore and thence Southeastwards to Eastcentral Bay of Bengal with embedded Cyclonic Circulation over Gangetic West Bengal & vicinity extending upto 3.1 Km above mean sea level.

The offshore trough at mean sea level from Maharashtra coast to Kerala coast persists.

There has been scattered showers or scattered light rain over some parts of Saurashtra during the last few days. Weather has been cloudy with periods of sunshine. The CAPE and Lifted Index is relatively high over many parts of Saurashtra suggesting instability in the upper air.

Daily Indian Summer Monsoon Index suggests that the Index is currently at a low of 2 and is expected to improve over the next four days and from 5th July will be around normal subsequently between 8 to 10.

 IMD Weather Charts of 700 Mb. valid up to 00 UTC 3rd July show that there would be an Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation over Madhya Pradesh. This would revive the Monsoon over Central India and vicinity.

 Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation over Northwest Madhya Pradesh & East Rajasthan valid 00 UTC of 4th July.

 Forecast: 1st to 7th July

Saurashtra:

50% of Saurashtra expected to get scattered showers on various days totaling 15 mm. during the forecast period.

Balance 50% of Saurashtra expected to get scattered showers light rain on various days totaling 15 mm. to 40 mm. during the forecast period.

South Gujarat:

South Gujarat expected to get medium to heavy rain on various days totaling 75 mm. to 100 mm. during the forecast period.

East Central Gujarat:

East Central Gujarat and Ahmedabad vicinity expected to get light or medium rain on various days totaling 25 mm. to 60 mm. during the forecast period.

North Gujarat & Kutch:

Currently rain forecast quantum for North Gujarat and Kutch is not given since it will depend on the track of the UAC that would be over M.P. on 3rd and 4th July.
