Third North Indian Storm For 2010 – Cyclonic Storm PHET Over Arabian Sea

Current Weather Conditions on 1st June 8.30 pm

The Deep Depression over the Arabian Sea has strengthened further to Cyclonic Storm PHET. Current location is 16.8N 62.5E about about 1150 Kms. West Southwest of Mumbai and about 950 Kms Southwest from Veraval & Porbundar. Winds are 100 to 110 Kms./Hour with Central pressure of about 982 Mb. The Wave height is 6 meters. Cyclone PHET is tracking mainly Northwards with little westward inclination. It is expected to strengthen further and track mainly Northerly direction with slight Westwards inclination for the next 24 to 36 hours. Subsequently, under the influence of Western disturbance the system will track North Eastwards after 24 to 36 hours, thereby broadly the likely Landfall could be between Karachi to Kutch & Gujarat region.

Currently expect Scattered hit & Miss Rain for Saurashtra till 6th June.
