IMD had declared that Monsoon has set over Rajkot on 16th June 2010. As per IMD Mid-Day Report Dated 16th June 2010 "Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into the remaining parts of central Arabian Sea, some parts of North Arabian Sea, Southern parts of Gujarat State, remaining parts of Maharashtra, Southern parts of Madhya Pradesh and some more parts of Chhattisgarh. The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) passes through Lat.22.0°N/Long.60.0°E, Lat.22.0°N/Long.69.0°E, Rajkot, Ahmedabad, Indore, Seoni, Jagdalpur, Phulbani, Keonjargarh, Bardwan, Malda and Gangtok."
As per IMD the NLM passes through Rajkot, however, the Monsoon has been inactive over Rajkot and most parts of Saurashtra from 16th June except the Coastal Regions of Saurashtra. The Temperatures have increased once again with Rajkot reaching 41 Degrees C. which is 4 Degrees above normal.
There is a Cyclonic Circulation over Arabian Sea West of Maharashtra Coast. Monsoon trough along the Konkan Coast and the Cyclonic Circulation will combine to give Heavy Rainfall for Goa to Konkan and also some parts of South Gujarat. Rainfall estimates for Goa, Konkan and nearby South areas will be posted soon.

As of 21st June 2010 The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) continues to pass through Lat. 22.0°N/Long. 60.0°E, Lat. 22.0°N/Long. 69.0°E, Rajkot, Ahmedabad, Indore, Seoni, Pendra, Ambikapur, Daltonganj, Gaya, Muzaffarpur and Raxaul.
Monsoon is not expected to progress further for next five days. However, weather over Saurashtra is expected to improve under the mild influence of the Monsoon trough along Konkan and the Cyclonic Circulation over East Arabian Sea. Light Rainfall is expected over Saurashtra mostly South of Rajkot. Rajkot could get rain on Thursday/Friday.
60% of Saurashtra expected to get 1 Cm. to 3 Cms. of Rain
20% of Saurashtra expected to get upto 3 Cms. to 5 Cms. of Rain
20% of Saurashtra expected to get upto 5 Cms. to 7 Cms. of Rain
