Saurashtra Farmers Will Have To Wait For Sunshine

The Low Pressure from the Bay of Bengal has tracked inland over Chhatishgarh East Madhya Pradesh and is currently over Central Madhya Prasdesh and adjoining areas. The axis of monsoon trough at mean sea level passes through Anoopgarh, Sawaimadhopur, Center of Low Pressure area, Champa, Paradip, and thence Southeastwards to Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. There is an off shore trough from South Gujarat coast to Konkan coast. Dense convective clouds are present over major parts of the Axis of Monsoon as well as the Off-shore Trough.

The Low Pressure is expected to track mainly West Northwestwards direction and move towards South Rajasthan North Gujarat region during the next 24 to 36 hours and will continue to track further West Northwestwards. An Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation is expected to from over South Rajashthan, North Gujarat, Saurashtra & Kutch and vicinity between 1st and 3rd August.

Forecast: 31st July to 3rd August 2010

Saurashtra:
75 % of Saurashtra will get 3 Cms. to 5 Cms. of Rain during the forecast period.
25 % of Saurashtra will get 5 Cms. to 10 Cms. of Rain during the forecast period.

Gujarat:
North Gujarat will get 5 Cms. to 12 Cms. of Rain during the forecast period.

South Gujarat will get 5 Cms. to 15 Cms. of Rain during the forecast period.

Central Gujarat will get 5 Cms. to 12 Cms. of Rain during the forecast period.

Note: Heavy to very heavy rainfall exceeding 15 Cms. can occur at a few Isolated places of the above regions.

Konkan:
Konkan will get 15 Cms. to 20 Cms. of Rain during the forecast period with Isolated places getting above 20 Cms.
