Very Heavy Rains For South India

Current Weather Conditions on 6th November 2009 @ 11.00 am.

There is a Cyclonic Circulation near Shri Lanka And Kerala Coast vicinity and the Convective cloud associated with this system are spread over a big area on both the sides of the Indian ocean viz. South East Arabian Sea and South West Bay of Bengal. The system is expected to strengthen further to become a Low Pressure.

The Daytime and Night Temperatures in Saurashtra and Gujarat has been above normal for past one week.

Saurashtra & Gujarat:

The Temperatures will remain above normal at most of the places for the next few days.

South India: 6th to 12th November

Very Heavy rains are forecast for Tamilnadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Kerala with many areas getting 15 Cms to 20 Cms. of rain during the forecast period. rest of Andhra Pradesh will get 5 Cms. to 8 Cms.

Coastal Karnataka and Goa is expected to get 8 Cms to 15 Cms. of rain while rest of Karnataka will get 5 Cms. to 8 Cms. of rain during the forecast period.

There is a possibility of unseasonal rains over some parts of Maharashtra and neighbouring States during 8th/12th. Updates will be available as warranted
