Deep Depression Over Arabian Sea Will Strengthen To Cyclonic Storm "PHYAN"

Current Weather Conditions on 10th November 2009 @ 3.00 pm.

Depression in the Arabian Sea had strengthened to a Deep Depression this morning lying at 14N and 71E about 325 Kms. West South West of Goa. The Central pressure is 996 Mb. and 60 to 70 Kms./Hour wind speed. The Sea is very rough with wave height of 4 Meters.

Forecast: This system is expected to strengthen further to a Cyclonic Storm "PHYAN" and will track mainly Northerly direction. Current track would lead the System towards Gulf of Khambhat and could make landfall on 12th November between Gulf of Khambhat and South Gujarat.

Heavy rains are forecast for Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa, and then South Gujarat.

Saurashtra and rest of Gujarat will also get unseasonal rains, but further details will be available on 11th.
