Low Pressure Crosses Over Malaysia & Strengthens To A Depression Over South Andaman Sea

Current Weather Conditions on 23rd November 2013 @ 10.30 am.

Yesterday 92W.INVEST a Low Pressure area crossed over Malaysia and Thailand border areas and lay over Northern parts of Sumatra coast and adjoining South Andaman Sea with associated Cyclonic Circulation up to 7.6 Kms. above sea level. Overnight the System has rapidly intensified two notches to a Depression strength. JTWC had issued a TCFA yesterday. JTWC has the System location at Lat. 7.7 N. & Long. 97.6E. with 1000 Mb. Pressure and 30 knots winds at 0230 UTC today 23rd November 2013 as per Satellite fix for 92W (West of Malasiya).

This System is expected to track Northwest direction over the Bay of Bengal and is also expected to strengthen further over the next two days.
