Heat Wave Conditions Over Saurashtra & Gujarat – System Developes In Bay

Current Weather Conditions on 5th October 2010 @ 5.00 pm.

There has been very hot weather in Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat during the last few days from 1st October till date. The last two days have been like near Heat Wave conditions. The Maximum Temperatures have been about 3 degrees above normal for this time of the year. This hot condition is expected to continue for next three days with some respite from weekend.

The Low Pressure that prevailed in the Arabian Sea from 29th September has weakened to a Cyclonic Circulation over the broad region in the Arabian Sea close to the Western Peninsula.

A Low pressure area has developed over the Bay of Bengal yesterday in the vicinity of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Today this Low Pressure is located at 12.6N 85.8E about 600 Kms. South East of the Andhra Pradesh Coast. The Central Pressure is 1002 Mb. and winds are about 35 to 40 Kms./Hour. The Low Pressure is expected to strengthen further to a Well marked Low Pressure within the next 24 hours. The Convective clouds associated with this System are spread along the Coastal areas of Tamilnadu, Andhra, Orissa and West Bengal.

Rain along the Coastal areas of the above four States for the next few days.
