Current Weather Conditions on 21st December 2024

IMD Mid-Day Bulletin:

The depression over West Central Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast moved East Northeastwards with the speed of 12 kmph during past 6 hours and lay centered at 0830 hrs IST of 21st December 2024 over the West Central Bay of Bengal, near latitude 14.0°N and longitude 84.5°E, about 430 km south-southeast of Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), 480 km east-northeast of Chennai (Tamil Nadu) and 590 km south- of Gopalpur (Odisha). The system is likely to move slowly east-northeastwards maintaining its intensity as a depression for next 12 hours and weaken gradually thereafter over the Sea.

Subtropical westerly Jet Stream with core winds of the order up to 130 knots at 12.6 km above mean sea level continue to prevail over Northeast India.

Another fresh and active western disturbance is likely to affect western Himalayan region & adjoining plains from 26th/27th December 2024.

Gujarat Observations:
The Minimum Temperature is 2°C above Normal to 2°C below normal over most parts of Gujarat except Rajkot where the Minimum Temperature is 4°C below normal.

Minimum Temperature on 21st December was as under:

Ahmedabad 14.4°C which is 1°C above normal

Rajkot  9.4°C which is 4°C below normal

Amreli 11.0°C which is 2°C below normal

Deesa 13.7°C which is 2°C above normal

Bhuj  11.3°C which is 1°C below normal

Forecast: Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch: 22nd to 28th December 2024

Winds will predominantly blow from the north and northeast. Wind speeds are expected to be above normal on 22nd–23rd December and again on 27th–28th December.

The sky will remain mostly clear throughout the forecast period, with partly cloudy conditions likely around 26th–27th December.

The current normal minimum temperature across most of Gujarat ranges from 11°C to 13°C, with cooler values near the Rajasthan border in Kutch and North Gujarat.

22nd–23rd December: Minimum temperatures are expected to rise by 1°C to 2°C.

24th–25th December: A decrease in minimum temperatures is anticipated.

26th–28th December: Temperatures are likely to increase again by 2°C to 4°C, with expected ranges of 10°C to 14°C on colder days and 13°C to 18°C during the warmer period.

Due to an active Western Disturbance over Northwest India around 26th–27th December, South & East Rajasthan and adjoining Northwest Madhya Pradesh expected to get rain showers. There is also a possibility of unseasonal rain over of North and East Gujarat, particularly areas adjoining South Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Updates will be provided if significant developments occur.

પવન મુખ્યત્વે ઉત્તર અને ઉત્તરપૂર્વ તરફથી ફૂંકાવાની શક્યતા છે. 22–23 ડિસેમ્બર અને ફરીથી 27–28 ડિસેમ્બરે પવનની ઝડપ સામાન્ય કરતાં વધુ રહેવાની શક્યતા છે.

આગામી સમયગાળા દરમિયાન આકાશ મુખ્યત્વે સ્પષ્ટ રહેશે, જ્યારે 26–27 ડિસેમ્બર દરમિયાન છુટા છવાયા વાદળ થવા ની શક્યતા છે.

ગુજરાતના મોટા ભાગના ભાગોમાં હાલના સામાન્ય લઘુત્તમ તાપમાન 11°C થી 13°C છે, જેમાં રાજસ્થાનની સીમા પાસે ઉત્તર ગુજરાતમાં તેમજ કચ્છ બાજુ નીચે ની રેન્જ.
22–23 ડિસેમ્બર: લઘુત્તમ તાપમાન 1°C થી 2°C વધવાની શક્યતા છે.
24–25 ડિસેમ્બર: લઘુત્તમ તાપમાનમાં ઘટાડાની અપેક્ષા છે.
26–28 ડિસેમ્બર: તાપમાન ફરીથી 2°C થી 4°C વધવાની શક્યતા છે. ઠંડા દિવસોમાં 10°C થી 14°C અને ઓછી ઠંડી વારા દિવસોમાં 13°C થી 18°C તાપમાન રહેવાની શક્યતા છે.

ઉત્તરપશ્ચિમ ભારત પર 26–27 ડિસેમ્બર દરમિયાન વેસ્ટર્ન ડિસ્ટર્બન્સ ના કારણે, દક્ષિણ અને પૂર્વ રાજસ્થાન તેમજ લાગુ ઉત્તરપશ્ચિમ મધ્યપ્રદેશમાં વરસાદ પડવાની શક્યતા છે. આ સિવાય ઉત્તર અને પૂર્વ ગુજરાતમાં, ખાસ કરીને દક્ષિણ રાજસ્થાન અને મધ્યપ્રદેશને જોડતા વિસ્તારોમાં માવઠા રૂપી છાંટા છૂટી ની શક્યતા છે. જો કોઈ મહત્વપૂર્ણ ફેર ફાર થાય તો અપડેટ આપવામાં આવશે.
