Events after last post of 7th June 2008
A low Pressure had developed in the Arabian Sea just close to Saurashtra Coast. It moved in the westerly direction towards Oman and fizzled out, however, in the process it took away big chunk of the South West Monsoon Clouds which could have given good rains to Saurashtra. There has been scattered rainfall in Saurashtra and some areas received upto 7 to 10 Cms. till date while most areas of Saurashtra have received upto 2 Cms. only.
The northern limit of monsoon as on 11th June 2008 passes through Lat 23°N/Long 60°E, Lat 23°N/Long 65°E, Okha, Rajkot, Surat, Nasik, Parbhani, Nagpur, Pendra, Chapra and Raxaul as per IMD.

South West Monsoon is active over West Coast of India and weather is condusive for further advancement of South West Monsoon over some more parts of India.
Forecast: South West Monsoon will onset over New Delhi by 15th June 2008.
Forecast for Rajkot, Saurashtra & Gujarat: 12th to 19th June
It is expected that rainfall for Saurashtra will vary from places to places and will rain on various days of the forecast period. Heavier rains are expected near the the Coastal regions of Saurashtra.
50 % of Saurashtra will receive scattered rainfall on various days of the forecast period totaling 5 to 6 Cms.
25 % of Saurashtra will receive scattered rainfall on various days of the forecast period totaling 6 to 10 Cms.
25 % of Saurashtra will receive scattered rainfall on various days of the forecast period totaling 10 to 15 Cms.
South Gujarat will get 15 Cms to 20 Cms. of rainfall.
Central Gujarat will get 7 Cms to 10 Cms. of rainfall.
Rest of India: 12th June to 19th June
Areas forecast to get 15 Cms. to 20 Cms of rainfall:
Kerala,Coastal Karnataka, Coastal Maharashtra, Goa, South Rajastan, North Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar & All the North Eastern States.
Areas forecast to get 10 Cms. to 15 Cms of rainfall:
West Bengal,Orissa, Jharkhand, Uttranchal, East Rajastan, Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Areas forecast to get 7 Cms. to 10 Cms of rainfall:
Vidarbh, Chhatishgarh, South Andhra Pradesh & East Madhya Pradesh.
Tamilnadu and Interior Karnataka will get upto 7 Cms. of rainfall.
