Farmers and general public at large of Saurashtra, Kutch and most parts of Gujarat are eagerly awaiting the onset of Southwest Monsoon over their respective areas. As per IMD the Northern Limit of Southwest Monsoon currently passes through Lat 21.0°N/ Long. 60.0° E, Lat 21.0°N/ Long. 65.0°E, Veraval, Navsari, Malegaon, Betul, Jabalpur, Sidhi, Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Lat 28.0°N/ Long. 83.0°E.
There has not been any meaningful rainfall over Saurashtra, Kutch & most parts of Gujarat except one or two places of Saurashtra and some limited areas of South Gujarat. There has been strong Southwest winds blowing across Saurashtra, Kutch & North Gujarat bringing moisture along with it. The Monsoon trough along the Western Coast is running from Konkan to Kerala.The Humidity at 3.1 Km. or the 700 Mb. height the Humidity is just 35 to 40%. The most of these conditions are not yet conducive for onset of Monsoon during the rest of June 2012 over Saurashtra, Kutch and most parts of Gujarat. The only plus point is that the humidity has increased at 1.5 Kms. or the 850 Mb. height and is ranging from 80 to 95 %.
The Indian Summer Monsoon has been very erratic and shows that currently monsoon activity will be low next two three days.

Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat
Weather is not yet conducive for meaningful rainfall over most parts of these areas except some parts of South Gujarat. Scattered showers possible or light rain but quantum will be very little. Windy conditions will prevail over Kutch, Saurashtra and North Gujarat for next two three days. South Gujarat can get scattered rain up to 1 to 3 Cms. cumulatively during this period. Onset of Monsoon not expected so the Northern Limit of Monsoon is expect to remain at stand still on the Western side at Veraval and Navsari.
