Southwest Monsoon Reaches Up To Veraval & Navsari

Current Weather Conditions on 17th June 2012 @ 4.30 pm.

There has been meaningful rainfall over most parts of North Konkan including Mumbai for last two days
There is a heavy built up of Monsoon clouds along the Western Coast of India from Kerala to South Gujarat and up to the Saurashtra Coast.

The Southwest Monsoon has advanced up to some parts of north Arabian Sea up to 21N., South Coastal Saurashtra, South Gujarat Konkan border, Maharashtra except Northern parts, Southern parts of Chhattisgarh, Orissa & West Bengal and complete Bay of Bengal.

The Cyclonic Circulation at 700 Mb. that developed over Northeast Arabian Sea on 15th had moved over Saurashtra Kutch yesterday and today is over Pak North Gujarat border.
There is an offshore trough at mean sea level from South Gujarat coast to Karnataka coast.

Forecast: Saurashtra

Currently Coastal Saurashtra will get light to medium rain. There will be high winds from today over Saurashtra, Kutch and Gujarat and is expected to last for the next few days. Detailed update will be given tomorrow.

Monsoon Watch

Southwest monsoon has advanced further into remaining parts of central Arabian Sea, some parts of north Arabian Sea, extreme
south Gujarat, many parts of Madhya Maharashtra, remaining parts of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, some parts of Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, some more parts of West Bengal & Sikkim and remaining parts of Bay of Bengal. The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) passes through Lat 21.0°N/ Long. 60.0° E, Lat 21.0°N/ Long. 65.0°E, Veraval, Navsari, Akola, Brahmapuri, Kanker, Keonjhargarh, Midnapore, Burdwan, Malda, Baghdogra and Gangtok.

Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon over some more parts of Arabian Sea, Gujarat, remaining
parts of Maharashtra, Orissa, West Bengal & Sikkim, some parts of Madhya Pradesh, some more parts of Chhattisgarh and some
parts of Jharkhand and Bihar during next 3 days.
