Monsoon Marches Forward Along The West Coast

Current Weather Conditions on 6th June 2012 @ 1.00 pm.

The Southwest Monsoon has advanced another 550 Kms. in one day today after having advanced 650 Kms. yesterday along the West Coast. NML is now on 18N. latitude along the West Coast being just 110 Kms. South of Mumbai. The Northeastern States have also been covered by the Southwest Monsoon. The Monsoon has not yet set in over the Bay of Bengal along the Eastern Indian Coast.

The southwest Monsoon has further advanced into most parts of central Arabian Sea, remaining parts of coastal Karnataka, entire Goa, some parts of south Konkan and south Madhya Maharashtra, some parts of north interior Karnataka, some more parts of south and central Bay of Bengal, most parts of northeast Bay of Bengal, entire Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura, Assam & Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and some parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim. The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) passes through Lat. 18° N/Long. 60° E, Lat. 18° N/Long. 65° E, Lat. 18° N/Long. 70° E, Harnai, Satara, Belgaum, Agumbe, Medikeri, Kodaikanal, Lat. 10° N/Long. 80° E, Lat. 12° N/Long. 86° E, Lat. 18° N/Long. 90° E, Lat. 23° N/Long. 91° E and Gangtok.
