Heavy Rains For Coastal Saurashtra

Current Weather Conditions 15th July 2009 @ 12.00 pm

The well marked low pressure area over coastal areas of Orissa and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal persists. The axis of monsoon trough at mean sea level passes through Ganganagar, Bharatpur, Gwalior, Pendra, Jharsuguda, centre of the well marked low pressure area and thence southeastwards to eastcentral Bay of Bengal.

Saurashtra & Gujarat has been receiving good round of rainfall from 14th July. There is a very large area of convective clouds South of Saurashtra. The Barometric Pressure over Saurashtra has been decreasing today and is expected to go below 995 Mb. at Rajkot, so the convective clouds will get pulled over Saurashtra.

Forecast: Very heavy rains for Coastal Saurashtra and later inland depending upon the movement of the clouds.
