There has been a good round of rains over many parts of Saurashtra yesterday. Rajkot was on the edge of the rain belt with some areas getting upto 40 mm while other areas of Rajkot just 10 mm.

Forecast for today: Good rains forecast for Bhavnagar and Amreli District with Coastal areas getting heavier rains. Rest of Saurashtra will get scattered rains.

My Forecast dated 29th June is produced herewith:

Rain Forecast period: 29th June to 5th July 2009

Saurashtra: 75 % of Saurashtra is expected to get 3 Cms. to 6 CMs. of rain, while 25 % of Saurashtra (including the Coastal areas) will get 6 Cms. to 12 Cms. of rain.

South Gujarat: 10 Cms. to 15 Cms.
Central Gujarat: 4 Cms. to 8 Cms.
North Gujarat: Hit or Miss Thunders

Konkan: 15 Cms. to 20 Cms. of rain during the forecast period with Isolated places getting more than 30 Cms.

Madhya Maharashtra: 15 Cms. to 20 Cms. of rain during the forecast period with South Madhya Maharashtra getting less amounts of 10 Cms. to 15 Cms. Isolated places getting more than 20 Cms. of rain.

Marathawada: 15 Cms. to 20 Cms. of rain during the forecast period with Isolated places getting more than 20 Cms. of rain.

Vidarbha: 15 Cms. to 20 Cms. of rain during the forecast period with Isolated places getting more than 20 Cms. of rain.

Mumbai to get ready for Very Heavy downpours of 20 Cms. plus with some areas getting more than 30 Cms. during the forecast period
