A Low Pressure area has formed over northwest Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood. It is expected to strengthen further by tomorrow.
The axis of monsoon trough at mean sea level passes through Ferozpur, Hissar, Kanpur, Varanasi, Jamshedpur, centre of Low Pressure area and thence Southeastwards to Eastcentral Bay of Bengal.
Saurashtra & Gujarat received good round of rainfall last week. The weather is conducive for another round of rainfall during this week. Rainfall will be distributed on various days for different areas.
Forecast: Conditions are conducive for good round of rain for Saurashtra, South Gujarat & Central Gujarat and parts of North Gujarat.
Rain Forecast period: 13th to 19th July
Saurashtra: 75 % of Saurashtra is expected to get 5 Cms. to 10 Cms. of rain, while 25 % of Saurashtra (including the Coastal areas) will get 10 Cms. to 15 Cms. of rain.
South Gujarat: 12 Cms. to 20 Cms. of rain.
Central Gujarat: 8 Cms. to 12 Cms. of rain.
North Gujarat: 50% will get 5 Cms. to 10 Cms. & 50% areas will get 2 Cms to 5 Cms. of rainfall during the forecast period.
