Two Strong Western Disturbances to Bring Heavy to Very Heavy Snowfall/Rain Over North India (22–27 Jan 2026); Cold Conditions Expected Over Gujarat & Kutch (24–27 Jan)
Current Weather Conditions — 20 January 2026
The normal minimum temperature over North Gujarat and Kutch ranges between 10°C and 11°C, while over the rest of Gujarat it typically ranges between 12°C and 13°C.
On 20 January, minimum temperatures are mostly normal to above normal at many places. However, Porbandar recorded a minimum temperature of 11°C, which is 2.5°C below normal.

Minimum temperatures are expected to rise further and remain above normal till 23 January. Subsequently, due to the influence of Western Disturbances, minimum temperatures are expected to drop by about 4°C to 6°C from around 24 January and remain below normal till 27 January.
Cold weather conditions are likely to prevail from 24 to 27 January, with many centres expected to dip below 10°C once again.
There is a possibility of fog on 23 January over parts of Gujarat State and daytime temperature is expected to drop sharply.
Wind Outlook
Winds are expected to prevail from the North to Northeast during most of the forecast period.
However, on 23 January, winds are likely to shift to a West/Northwest direction.
North India Outlook
A multiple Western Disturbance sequence is expected to affect North India during 20–27 January, of which two systems are strong.
Expected impacts include:
- Light to moderate rain, with isolated rather heavy rainfall, over the plains — mainly across Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and adjoining regions. Light rain expected up to Rajasthan.
- Moderate to heavy snowfall over the higher reaches.
Snowfall expected to range between 10 cm and 50 cm on some days. Heavy snowfall locations could could receive more than 100 cm of cumulative snowfall during the forecast period.

23 Januaryના રોજ ગુજરાત રાજ્યના કેટલાક વિસ્તારોમાં ઝાકળ ની શક્યતા છે તેમજ દિવસ નું તાપમાન ઘણું નીચું રહે તેવી શક્યતા.
પવનની સ્થિતિ (Wind Outlook)
આગાહી સમયગાળા દરમિયાન મોટાભાગે પવનો ઉત્તર થી ઉત્તરપૂર્વ (North to Northeast) દિશામાં ફૂંકાવાની શક્યતા છે.
પરંતુ 23 Januaryના દિવસે પવનની દિશા પશ્ચિમ/ઉત્તરપશ્ચિમ (West/Northwest) તરફ વળવાની શક્યતા છે.
ઉત્તર ભારત માટે આગાહી
20–27 January દરમિયાન ઉત્તર ભારતમાં ઉપર ઉપરી વેસ્ટર્ન ડિસ્ટર્બન્સની અસર થવાની શક્યતા છે, જેમાંથી બે સિસ્ટમો શક્તિશાળી રહેશે.
આશાનિત અસર નીચે મુજબ રહેશે:
- મેદાની વિસ્તારોમાં હળવો મધ્યમ વરસાદ અને ક્યાંક ક્યાંક ભારે વરસાદ ની શક્યતા છે, મુખ્યત્વે જમ્મુ કાશ્મીર અને હિમાચલ પ્રદેશ અને લાગુ રાજ્યોના વિસ્તારોમાં. રાજસ્થાન સુધી અસર થવાની શક્યતા.
- ઊંચા પર્વતીય વિસ્તારોમાં મધ્યમ/ભારે હિમવર્ષા .
કેટલાક દિવસોમાં હિમવર્ષા 10 cm થી 50 cm વચ્ચે રહી શકે છે. જ્યારે ભારે હિમવર્ષાવાળા કેટલાક વિસ્તારોમાં આગાહી સમયગાળા દરમિયાન કુલ હિમવર્ષા 100 cm કરતાં વધુ પણ થઈ શકે છે.
