The normal minimum temperature over North Gujarat and Kutch ranges between 10°C and 11°C, while over the rest of Gujarat it ranges from 11°C to 12.5°C.
As of today, minimum temperatures are about 1–2°C above normal at many places. However, Rajkot and Amreli stand out, with minimum temperatures around 2°C below normal.

Minimum temperatures are expected to trend lower towards normal or below normal on most days till 12 January. No cold wave expected. Around 13 January, minimum temperatures may rise again towards normal or slightly above normal.
Wind Outlook
- Winds are expected to prevail from the North to Northeast during the forecast period.
- Wind speeds are likely to remain around 8–15 km/h, increasing to 12–25 km/h on a few days at several places.
South India Rainfall Outlook
The well-marked low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal has intensified into a Depression at 0830 IST on 7 January 2026, centered near 4.8°N / 88.2°E. It is likely to intensify into a Deep Depression within 24 hours and move west-northwestwards towards the southwest Bay of Bengal over the next 48 hours.
- Tamil Nadu is expected to receive meaningful rainfall during 9–12 January 2026, with peak rainfall likely on 10–11 January.
- Kerala is also expected to receive rainfall on a couple of days during this period.

12 જાન્યુઆરી સુધી મોટા ભાગના દિવસોમાં ન્યૂનતમ તાપમાન સામાન્ય અથવા સામાન્ય કરતાં ઓછું થવાની દિશામાં રહેશે. કોલ્ડ વેવ ની શક્યતા નથી. 13 જાન્યુઆરી આસપાસ, ન્યૂનતમ તાપમાન ફરીથી સામાન્ય અથવા થોડું વધુ થઈ શકે છે.
પવનની સ્થિતિ
- અનુમાનિત સમયગાળા દરમિયાન પવનની દિશા ઉત્તરથી ઉત્તર-પૂર્વ તરફથી રહેશે.
- પવનની ગતિ સામાન્ય રીતે 8–15 કિમી/કલાક રહેશે, જ્યારે કેટલાક દિવસોમાં અનેક વિસ્તારોમાં તે 12–25 કિમી/કલાક સુધી વધવાની શક્યતા છે.
દક્ષિણ ભારત માટે વરસાદનું અનુમાન
દક્ષિણપૂર્વ બંગાળની ખાડી ઉપર આવેલું વેલ માર્કંડ લો પ્રેસર 7 જાન્યુઆરી 2026ના રોજ સવારે 0830 ISTએ ડિપ્રેશનમાં રૂપાંતરિત થયું છે, જેનું કેન્દ્ર 4.8° ઉત્તર અક્ષાંશ અને 88.2° પૂર્વ રેખાંશ નજીક છે. આગામી 24 કલાકમાં તે ડીપ ડિપ્રેશનમાં વધુ તીવ્ર બનવાની શક્યતા છે અને આગામી 48 કલાકમાં દક્ષિણપશ્ચિમ બંગાળની ખાડી તરફ પશ્ચિમ-ઉત્તરપશ્ચિમ દિશામાં આગળ વધવાની શક્યતા છે.
- તમિલનાડુમાં 9 થી 12 જાન્યુઆરી 2026 દરમિયાન નોંધપાત્ર વરસાદ થવાની શક્યતા છે, જેમાં 10 અને 11 જાન્યુઆરીએ વરસાદની તીવ્રતા વધુ રહેવાની શક્યતા છે.
