Maximum Temperature Observations – 19th May 2025:

  • Rajkot: 40.7°C (near normal)

  • Deesa: 39.4°C (1.4°C below normal)

  • Ahmedabad: 39.7°C (2°C below normal)

  • Amreli: 39.7°C (1.4°C below normal)

  • Bhuj: 39.2°C (near normal)

Overall, maximum temperatures across most parts of Gujarat are near normal to 2°C below normal.

  • Northern Limit of Monsoon:
    The NLM passes through 5°N/65°E, 6°N/70°E, 6.5°N/75°E, 7°N/80°E, 9°N/85°E, 12°N/90°E, 15°N/93°E, and 19°N/97°E.

    Monsoon Progress Update

    • Southwest Monsoon Onset Over Kerala:
      Atmospheric and oceanic conditions are likely to become favorable for the onset of the southwest monsoon over Kerala during the next 4–5 days.

    • Monsoon Advance Expected:
      During the same period, conditions are also likely to become favorable for the further advance of the southwest monsoon into:

      • More parts of the South Arabian Sea

      • Remaining parts of the Maldives and Comorin area

      • Some parts of the Lakshadweep region

      • Kerala and Tamil Nadu

      • Additional parts of the South & Central Bay of Bengal

      • The Northeast Bay of Bengal

      • Some regions of the Northeastern states of India

  • Key Synoptic Systems:

    • A broad cyclonic circulation extends from UAC over Southwest to North Interior Karnataka across Peninsular India.

    • An Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation (UAC) is present over the southwest Bay of Bengal between 1.5–5.8 km above mean sea level, tilting southwestward with height.

    • An Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation is expected to form over the East Central Arabian Sea off the Karnataka coast around 21st May.

    • Under its influence, a Low-Pressure Area (LPA) is likely to develop by 22nd May, potentially intensifying and moving northward towards the Northeast Arabian Sea, west of Mumbai and south of Saurashtra by 23rd May.

Forecast for Gujarat, Saurashtra & Kutch (Up to 24th May 2025)

️ Wind Patterns:

  • Variable winds, depending on the position and strength of the upcoming Arabian Sea Low-Pressure System.

  • Wind Speed: 15–20 km/h; gusts up to 20–30 km/h.
    Winds may strengthen as the system nears Gujarat.

️ Sky Conditions:

  • Partly cloudy skies initially.

  • Cloud cover expected to increase as the system approaches Gujarat.

️ Temperature Trends:

  • Normal Maximum Temperatures:

    • Most of Gujarat: 41.0°C–41.5°C

    • Bhuj: 39.2°C

  • Forecast Trend:
    Temperatures may rise slightly above normal initially, followed by a gradual drop due to increasing cloudiness.

️ Pre-Monsoon Activity:

  • Isolated to scattered rain expected over Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat region during 20th–24th May.

A Low-Pressure System in the Arabian Sea is expected to intensify—possibly to a Depression or stronger.

    દક્ષિણ પશ્ચિમ ચોમાસું કેરળમાં પ્રવેશ 4-5 દિવસમાં:

    આકાશીય અને સમુદ્રી પરિસ્થિતિઓ આવતા 4–5 દિવસમાં કેરળમાં દક્ષિણ પશ્ચિમ ચોમાસું પ્રવેશ કરે તેવી અનુકૂળ બનવાની સંભાવના છે.

    ચોમાસું આગળ વધવાની શક્યતા:

    આ જ સમયગાળા દરમિયાન દક્ષિણ પશ્ચિમ ચોમાસું નીચેના વિસ્તારોમાં આગળ વધવા માટે પણ પરિસ્થિતિઓ અનુકૂળ બનવાની શક્યતા છે:

    • દક્ષિણ અરબી સમુદ્રના વધુ વિસ્તારો
    • માલદિવ્સ અને કોમોરીન વિસ્તારના બાકી રહેલા ભાગો
    • લક્ષદ્વીપ ક્ષેત્રના કેટલાક ભાગો
    • કેરળ અને તમિલનાડુ
    • દક્ષિણ અને મધ્ય બંગાળની ખાડીના વધુ વિસ્તારો

    • દક્ષિણ બંગાળની ખાડીથી લઈને ઉત્તર આંતરિક કર્ણાટક સુધી વિસ્તરતું એક બહોળું સાયક્લોનિક સર્ક્યુલેશન જોવા મળે છે.

    • દક્ષિણપશ્ચિમ બંગાળની ખાડીમાં 1.5 થી 5.8 કિમી ની ઊંચાઈએ એક UAC સક્રિય છે, જે વધતી ઉંચાઈએ દક્ષિણ પશ્ચિમ તરફ ઝુકે છે.

    • 21 મે આસપાસ કર્ણાટક કોસ્ટ સામે પૂર્વ મધ્ય અરબી સમુદ્રમાં એક યુએસી સર્જાવાની સંભાવના છે.

    • તેની અસર હેઠળ, 22 મે આસપાસ એક લો પ્રેશર એરિયા (LPA) વિકસવાની સંભાવના છે, જે વધુ તીવ્ર બનીને મુંબઈના પશ્ચિમ અને સૌરાષ્ટ્રના દક્ષિણ ભાગ તરફ ઉત્તર દિશામાં ખસી શકે છે (23 મે સુધી).

  • પવનના દિશા અને ગતિમાં ભિન્નતા રહેશે, જે અરબી સમુદ્રમાં સર્જાનાર લો પ્રેશર સિસ્ટમની સ્થિતિ અને તીવ્રતા પર આધાર રાખે છે.

  • પવનગતિ: 15–20 કિમી/કલાક, તીવ્ર ઝાંઝાવાત સાથે 20–30 કિમી/કલાક સુધી.
    સિસ્ટમ નજીક આવતાં પવનની તીવ્રતા વધી શકે છે.

️ આકાશી સ્થિતિ:

  • પ્રારંભમાં છુટા છવાયા વાદળો રહેશે.

  • સિસ્ટમ નજીક આવતાં વાદળછાયા વધી શકે છે.

️ તાપમાન:

  • નોર્મલ મહત્તમ તાપમાન:

    • ગુજરાતના મોટાભાગના કેન્દ્રો: 41.0°C–41.5°C

    • ભુજ: 39.2°C

  • આગાહી:
    શરૂઆતમાં તાપમાન સામાન્ય કરતાં થોડી વધે એવી શક્યતા, ત્યારબાદ વાદળછાયા વધવાથી તાપમાનમાં ધીમે ધીમે ઘટાડો થઈ શકે છે.

  • 20 થી 24 મે દરમિયાન, સૌરાષ્ટ્ર, કચ્છ અને ગુજરાતના માં અળગ અળગે (Isolated) થી છૂટાછવાયા વરસાદની શક્યતા છે.
