Cyclonic Storm “MAHASEN” Weakens Marignally

Cyclonic Storm “MAHASEN” has weakened marginally from 50 knots as per JTWC this System today 12th May 2013 at 0630 UTC (12 .00 pm. IST) has winds of  45 knots. ( 85 Kms/hour on a one minute average wind speed basis) located at 10.0 N. and 87.3 E. with Central Pressure of 989 Mb. instead of the earlier 985 Mb. Pressure.

As per RSMC/IMD Bulletin No.: BOB 01/2013/10 Dated: 12-05-2013 issued at 1000 hours IST the Cyclonic Storm MAHASEN over Southeast Bay of Bengal moved slightly Northwestwards and lay centred at 0830 hrs IST of 12th May 2013 near latitude 10.00  N and longitude 87.50  E, about 600 km west-southwest of Car Nicobar, 700 km northeast of Trincomalee, 850 km southeast of Chennai and 1450 km south-southwest of Chittagong. It would move initially northwestwards during next 36 hours and recurve thereafter northeastwards towards Bangladesh-Myanmar coast. Latest satellite imagery shows disorganisation of cloud mass and weakening of the system.
