The Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Coastal Orissa extending upto Mid Tropospheric levels tilting Southwards with height persists. There is also an Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation over Gujarat and neighbourhood which persists. The axis of monsoon trough at mean sea level passes through Barmer, Chittoregarh, Bhopal, Raipur, Gopalpur and thence Southeastwards to Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. The off shore trough from Gujarat coast to Kerala coast persists.

The Daily Indian Monsoon Index has gone up very sharply as can be seen from the chart. It shows that the Index figure has shot off the graph for a few days indicating very active Monsoon over India. The effects can be seen from the rainfall figures over Maharashtra and South Gujarat and some other parts of the Country.

Forecast:

The UAC over Sarashtra, Kutch & Gujarat and adjoining Arabian Sea is expected to persist for a few more days. The 700 Mb. Circulation from
stretches from this area to the Bay of Bengal and adjoining Orissa.

Rainfall over Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat expected to be Medium to heavy till Friday. Rainfall will vary from day to day and also district wise during the forecast period. In short above average round of rainfall for Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat.
Heavy rain also expected for Maharashtra, Orissa, Chhatishgarh & West M.P.
