Active Monsoon Phase To Resume Over Gujarat, Maharashtra & Madhya Pradesh

Current Weather Conditions on 25th August 2011 @ 11.30 am.

The Axis of the Monsoon trough at mean sea level passes through Bikaner, Shivpuri, Umaria, Ambikapur, Balasore and thence Southeastwards to East Central Bay of Bengal. At 700 Mb. level the Axis passes through Central Arabian Sea, Maharashtra, South Chhattisgarh, Orissa and thence Eastsoutheastwards to East Central Bay of Bengal.
There are multiple Upper Air Cyclonic Circulations embedded in the Axis of Monsoon. The first UAC lies over West Uttar Pradesh and neighborhood, the second UAC over North Chattisgarh and adjoining East Madhya Pradesh and the third UAC lies over Northwest Bay of Bengal and neighborhood. The off shore trough from south Gujarat coast to Kerala coast persists.

There has been scattered rain and or showers over most parts of Saurashtra. There has been light to medium rain over South Gujarat, Central Gujarat and nearly areas.

The Map shows that there will be above average Rainfall over Most of India except the Southern peninsula for the first week starting 24th August till 30th August




Forecast: 25th August to 31st August 2011

Saurashtra:

75% of Saurashtra will get medium to heavy rainfall expected with quantum of 5 Cms. to 10 Cms. during the forecast period.

25% of Saurashtra will get medium to heavy rainfall expected with quantum of 10 Cms. to 15 Cms. during the forecast period.

Gujarat:

South Gujarat and Central Gujarat and parts of North Gujarat will get heavy rainfall expected with quantum of 10 Cms. to 15 Cms. during the forecast period with isolated places could get between 15 Cms. to 20 Cms.

Madhya Pradesh & Maharashtra:

Heavy to very heavy rainfall expected with quantum of 12 Cms. to 20 Cms. during the forecast period.
