Weather over Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat has been dry with good sunshine with occasional scattered clouds. Maximum Temperatures are normal to slightly below normal and the Minimum Temperatures were above normal at most places of these regions during the last two days. Nalia is an exception where the Minimum Temperature is reported to be about 6.5 to 7.5 Degrees C. At the cost of repetition I would mention that surprisingly rest of the places in Kutch do not reflect this type of low Minimum Temperature. This anomaly of low Minimum Temperature for Nalia needs to be studied. Rajkot had a Minimum of 17 Degrees C. which is about 3 C above normal for this time of the year.
There is a Cyclonic Circulation over the South Arabian Sea located currently at 5.3N 67.0E about 1100 Kms. from Kerala.
There is a Low Pressure in the Bay of Bengal located at 10.9N 83.7E about 400 Kms. East of Tamilnadu Coast. Associated convective clouds are spread over Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh, South Karnataka, and the Eastern Coast of India along Orissa and West Bengal. Heavy rainfall has occurred over Chennai during the past 24 hours recording 10 plus Cms. till 8.30 morning.

Forecast:
Heavy rainfall to continue along the East Indian Coast from Tamilnadu, Andhra pradesh, Orissa and up to West Bengal for the next few days. South Karnataka, Kerala will also get rainfall during the next few days. The rainfall will be under the cumulative effects of the current Low Pressure as well as the Cyclonic Circulation in the South Arabian Sea.

The Maximum Temperatures will be slightly below normal and the Minimum Temperatures will be near normal till Wednesday. The Maximum as well as Minimum Temeprature is expected to decrease between Thursday the 9th December and 11th December in most parts of Kutch, Saurashtra & Gujarat.
