Both The Basins Active – Arabian Sea & Bay Of Bengal

Current Weather Conditions on 3rd December 2010 @ 10.00 am.

Weather over Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat has been dry with good sunshine and normal to slightly above normal Minimum Temperatures at most places of these regions during the past few days. Nalia is an exception where the Minimum Temperature is reported to be about 6.5 Degrees C. but surprisingly rest of the places in Kutch do not reflect this type of low Minimum Temperature. This anomaly of low Minimum Temperature for Nalia needs to be studied.

A Cyclonic Circulation over the South Arabian Sea strengthened to a Low pressure located currently at 7.0N 62.4E with Central Pressure of 1004 MB. and winds of 45 Kms./Hour on 1 Min. Ave.speed basis. This System is about 1650 Kms. West of the tip of the Indian Peninsula.

There is also a Cyclonic Circulation over South & South West Bay of Bengal located at 5.1N 89.2E with associated Convective clouds spread over a large area from the Circulation Center up to Tamilnadu.

NCEP Rainfall Forecast for Week from 2nd.December to 8th December



Forecast:
South India: 3rd to 9th December 2010

Coastal Tamilnadu will receive 15 Cms. to 20 Cms. of rainfall while Interior Tamilnadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala & Karnataka will receive Cms. to 10 Cms. of Rainfall during the forecast period. Isolated places can get more than 20 Cms. of rainfall.

Weather over Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat is expected to be dry during the next four days with near normal Minimum Temperatures.
