Cyclone "WARD" Moves All Over 200 Kms. Area

Current Weather Conditions on 13th December 2009 @ 11.30 am.

The Cyclonic Storm "WARD" had weakened during the past 6 hours to a Deep Depression. It has tracked in an erratic manner during the past 24 hours broadly between 8N to 10N and 82.5E to 84.5E. In short the System has moved all over within an area of 110 Kms. from 9N and 83.5E. Currently it is lying at 8.5N 83E about 400 Kms. South East of Tamilnadu Coast. The Central Pressure of the System is 996 Mb. with winds of 65 Kms./Hour and gusts of 80 Kms./Hour. The sea is rough with wave heights of 4 Meters.

Forecast:

The System is expected to track in the Westerly direction during the next 12 Hours towards Shri Lanka Coast. However, there is a possibility of track change so the System is warranted to be watched closely.
