Depression Formed Between North Shri Lanka and South Tamilnadu Coast

Current Weather Conditions on 25th November 2008 @ 6.30 pm.

The Cyclonic Circulation in the Bay of Bengal had strengthened to a Low Pressure yesterday and then to a Well Marked Low Pressure this morning and by this evening it has further strengthened to a Depression currently located at 9.5N and 80.5E very close to North Shri Lanka and South Tamilnadu Coast. Winds are 55 Kms./Hour with Central Pressure of 1000 Mb.

Weather Forecast for South India:

25th to 30th November: Under the effect of this Depression which is expected to strengthen further to a Depression, heavy rains of 12 Cms. to 17 Cms. with Isolated places getting more than 25 Cms. are expected to fall over Tamilnadu, Kerala and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh during this period. South Karnataka will get up to 6 Cms. of rain.
