Good rainfall has occurred over most parts of Saurashtra as per forecast dated 30-06-08.

A Cyclonic Circulation is expected to form over the North Bay Of Bengal close to West Bengal- Orissa Coast tomorrow the 6th July. It is expected to travel Westwards through Central India.

Forecast for Rajkot, Suarashtra & Kutch, Gujarat: 5th - 12th July 2008

Rainfall activity will be subdued from 5th July till 7th July. The Cyclonic Circulation that is expected to form over the Bay of Bengal by tomorrow will travel Westwards and is expected to reach the Gujarat, Rajastan & M.P. border on 8th July. There is a possibility of rainfall activity peaking up from 9th July in Saurashtra, North Gujarat, Kutch. The intensity of rainfall will depend on the actual track of this Monsoon system while it travels mostly Westwards.

Rest Of India: 5th - 12th July 2008

Heavy Rainfall activity will be concentrated over bands of area streching from South Gujarat to North India. Another area will be from West Bengal to Gujarat. Third area is North Eastern States. The Fourth area is from West Bengal to North India and lastly the West Coast of India. Scanty rains for South Peninsula.


Rainfall Quantity Forecast for Saurashtra will be isssued on Monday the 7th July 2008.
