Tropical Depression Over Arabian Sea – 600 Kms. From Saurashtra Coast

There has been Pre-Monsoon rains over scattered areas of Saurashtra from 3rd June with heavier rainfall yesterday in some parts of Rajkot upto 3 Inches. IMD recorded 14 mm. and RingRoad Weather Station recorded 12.6 mm. of rainfall.

A Tropical Depression has formed in the Arabian Sea currently lying at 17.6N 65.5E. It is about 600 Kms. South West of the Saurashtra Coast and is expected to tract North North Westward direction.

Forecast for Rajkot, Suarashtra & Gujarat: 5th to 12th June

Scattered rainfall ranging from 1 to 5 Inches is expected in Saurashtra with heavier rainfall on the Coastal regions during the Forecast period. Rainfall quantity will vary depending on the outcome of the Arabian Sea Depression.

Rest of India: 5th June to 12th June

Rainfall activity has been disrupted by the Low Pressure which is now a Depression in the Arabian Sea. The South West Monsoon will again become active from 6th June Along the West Coastal India from Kerala to Goa.
