Monsoon Reaches North Eastern States

Current Conditions on 2nd June 2008 3.00 pm.

The Temperatures over Saurashtra has been normal for the past few days. The Humidity has increased so the Real feel temperatures are between 45 to 49 Degrees C.

The Southwest Monsoon has onset in Kerala and has moved rapidly upto just South of Goa on the Western side of India and the Line of Monsoon Onset on the East side of India has covered most of the North Eastern States. Forecast for Rajkot, Suarashtra & Gujarat: 2nd to 8th June

The Temperature over Rajkot and most parts of Saurashtra will remain normal around 39 to 41 Degrees C. during the Forecast period. The humidity has increased lately and so though the Temperature would be 39 to 41 Degrees, the Real Feel Temperature is around 45 to 49 Degrees C.

Forecast for South India: 2nd to 8th June

Rainfall activity will continue over Peninsula but will not be as per classic Monsoon. The Rainfall intensity will be in scattered pattern and will not befit Monsoon onset especially in Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu and Interior Karnataka.

Kerala : 10 Cms. to 15 Cms.
Karnataka : 5 Cms. to 15 Cms.
Andhra Pradesh :3 Cms to 5 Cms.
Tamilnadu : 3 Cm. to 5 Cms.
Goa : 10 Cms. to 14 Cms.
North Eastern States : 10 Cms to 20 Cms.- Isolated places upto 25 Cms.
