Low Pressure In The Gulf Of Martaban Area Of The Bay Of Bengal

Current Conditions on 13th May 2008 4.00 pm.

There was a Cyclonic Circulation in the Andaman Sea South of Myanmar. This Cyclonic Circulation has developed into a Low pressure in the Gulf of Martaban South East of Yangon or Rangoon.

Pressure 1007 mb.
Location 15.7N 97E (150 Kms. South East of Yangon)

Note:
As per IMD the Monsoon has set over some parts of Bay of Bengal and Adaman Islands between 10th to 12 th May 2008. This translates to onset of Monsoon over Andaman Islands about eight days ahead of normal onset.

Forecast for Myanmar: 13th to 18th May

Heavy to Very Heavy rains are forecast for Cyclone affected area of Myanmar including the rest of South Myanmar where the total rainfall could be 20 Cms. to 25 Cms. during the forecast period with some areas receiving more than 25 Cms. This would hamper releif work in the Cyclone stricken areas and would be a cause for further hardship for the People of Myanmar.

Forecast for Rajkot, Suarashtra & Gujarat: 13th to 18th May

The Temperature over Rajkot and most parts of Saurashtra will remain normal around 39 to 40 Degrees C. for the next five days. The humidity has increased lately and so though the Temperature is 38 to 40 Degrees, the Real Feel Temperature is around 44 to 47 Degrees C.
