Two days after the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm "NARGIS" struck Myanmar, reports of death toll are coming out. Various press reports are quoting death toll of 243 from the storm.

As has been posted earlier, Nargis struck the Ayeyrwaddy Delta so the maximum fatality and property damage would be from that area. Powerlines were down, trees were uprooted and buildings shattered accross the path of the storm including Yangon.

Information on Death toll and property loss is trickling in as time passes and the actual death toll figures may be higher than would be reported by Myanmar Government.

It is strange that most of the Media did not cover or mention the Very severe Cyclonic Storm Nargis till one day after it struck Myanmar.
