Well Marked Low Pressure Reaches Oman

Current Weather Conditions on 5th June 2013 @ 1.00 pm.

The UAC in the Westcentral Arabian Sea had strenghtend to a Low Pressure yesterday evening and subsequently to a Well Marked Low Pressure this morning when it was just located about 200 Kms. from Oman Coast at Lat. 21 N & Long. 60.6 E. with 25 knots wind speed. The Clouding associated with this System are mainly to the West of the System. Current location of this System is 21.2 N. & 60.2 E. with 25 knots winds with most of the associated clouds over Oman.

Monsoon:

Arabian Sea flank or the Western flank of the Monsoon has moved at jet speed and may mark time now. Bay of Bengal flank is expected to move forward within a couple of days to cover the Northeastern States.

Heat Wave:

Centers where the Maximum Temperature was in the  46 C. to 48 C. bracket are:

Churu at 47.4 C., Bikaner 46.5 C. & Barmer 46.0 C.

Forecast: 5th June to 9th June

Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat:

Pre-monsoon activity would continue over pockets of these regions during the Forecast period. Regular monsoon will start few days after the onset in Mumbai.
