Arabian Sea System Strengthens

Current Status of Arabian Sea System at 8.00 am. IST on 8th November 2011

As per NRL Storm 04A was located morning 0530 IST on 8th November at 13.7N 59.4E having Central Pressure of 996 Mb. and 35 knots winds(65 Kms./Hour)

Satellite Image of the Arabian Sea System at 8.00 am. IST on 8th Novemebr 2011 shows that some cloud swirls have reached Pakistan, Kutch and Saurashtra Coast.

Sub: Depression over westcentral Arabian Sea.

The depression over south and adjoining central Arabian Sea moved west-northwestwards and lay centred at 1730 hrs IST of today, the 7th November 2011 over westcentral Arabian Sea near latitude 13.50N and longitude 60.50E, about 1550 km west-northwest of Mangalore (Karnataka), 700 km east-northeast of Socotra Island (Yemen) and 700 km east-southeast of Salalah (Oman). The system is likely to intensify into a deep depression and move initially west-northwestwards and then northwestwards towards Oman coast during next 72 hrs.

As the depression is expected to move northwestwards away from west coast of India, no adverse weather will occur along and off west coast of India under the influence of this system. However, the system is under constant watch for its further development.
