Bay of Bengal Low Pressure to Strengthen Further

The Maximum Temperatures have been around 42 to 44 Degrees C. for last few days in most parts of Saurashtra. The winds are blowing mainly from the West. Normal Maximum Temperature for Rajkot for this time of the year is 40 Degrees C.

Forecast:
The Temperatures are expected to remain high over most parts of Saurashtra & Gujarat during this week with Heat Wave conditions at many places of Saurashtra & Gujarat mainly in latter half of the week. Expect Maximum Temperature between 43 to 45 Degrees C. in many parts of the region with Ahmedabad, Amreli, Bhavnagar & Surendranagar Districts getting the Temperatures in the higher range. Normal Maximum Temperatures at this time of the year for Rajkot is 40 and Minimum is 24.5 Degrees C. Maximum Temperatures at Rajkot is expected to go up to between 42.5 to 44 Degrees. Ahmedabad could have Record Highest Maximum Temeprature for this season till date.

North Gujarat, Rajasthan, some parts of North India, U.P., Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhatishgarh, Vidarbha, will experience Heat Wave this week.

Highest Temperatures at various places of India: New Delhi 47.6 C., Agra 46.7 C., Allahbad 46.3 C., Gwalior 46.2 C., Hissar 46.1 C.

Gujarat:Rajkot was 43.2 C.

A Low Pressure has developed in the Bay of Bengal at 10N 88E. and is expected to strengthen further to a Depression. Kerala & Karnataka will receive 10 Cms. to 15 Cms. of rainfall by 24th May.
