Deep Depression (WARD) Aproaching Shri Lanka Coast

Current Weather Conditions on 14th December 2009 @ 10.30 am.

The Cyclonic Storm "WARD" that weakened yesterday to a Deep Depression is currently practicaly approaching the Shri Lanka Coast. Currently it is located at 8.9N 81.3E about 35 Kms. East of Shri Lanka Coast. The Central Pressure of the System has increased to 1000 Mb. with winds of 55 Kms./Hour and gusts of 65 Kms./Hour. The sea is rough with wave heights of 3.5 Meters.

Forecast:

The System is expected to track in the Westerly direction during the next 6 Hours and cross Shri Lanka Coast by noon today.

Heavy rains are forecast for Shri Lanka and Tamilnadu during the next few days.

Saurashtra: The Temperatures over Saurashtra has been near normal to slightly above normal for the past two days and the same is expected for the next few days. Normal for Rajkot is Max. 30 and Min. 13.5 Degree. The Temperatures are expected to remain in the 30 to 32 Degree Maximum and 13 to 15 Degrees Minimum range.
