Core Of Cyclone LAILA Over Land Of Andhra Pradesh

Severe Cyclonic Storm "LAILA" in the Bay of Bengal has tracked North Northwestwards during the last 8 hours and is currently located at 15.4N. 80.6E. with winds of 100 Kms. gusting to 115 Kms./Hour. The Central Pressure is 978 Mb. System is about 50 to 60 Kms. East of ONGOLE on Andhra Coast. The Wave height is 5 Meters. The Cyclone -80 Degrees C. clouds are spread over 350 Km. diameter. Currently 50 % of this core is over Andhra Pradesh land. System is expected to track mainly North North west direction at 5 Kms./Hour. towards Andhra Coast between Ongole & Machhlipatam. The System should be closely watched during the next 12 Hours for any radical track change.

Strong winds are expected for Coastal Andhra Pradesh and North Tamilnadu Coast with Heavy to Very Heavy rainfall for these areas. Every care should be taken to protect life and property in these areas.
