Bay Of Bengal System Strengthens To A Depression

Current Weather Conditions on 28th October 2012 @ 8.00 pm.

The Low Pressure System over the Bay of Bengal has strengthened and IMD has upgraded the system by two notches to a Depression as per IMD Bulletin of 3.00 pm. IST  as had been indicated in my this morning 8.00 am. post.

JTWC is monitoring this system as 93W.INVEST from 22nd October when it first formed over the Gulf of Thailand and crossed over to the Bay of Bengal on 24th October. JTWC puts this system at 25 knots winds and 1004 Mb. Pressure located at 9.5N & 84.5E at 0930 UTC ( 3.00 pm. IST).

Due to the intensification of the Bay of Bengal System to a Depression, the Arabian Sea System 96A.INVEST  is struggling to develop. Current location is 6.0N & 71.1E.  and 15 knots winds with indicated 1010 Mb. (Other models show it at 1008 Mb.) IMD expects a Low Pressure to develop over Arabian Sea on 30th October.

Heavy rainfall for Tamilnadu and adjoining areas expected from tomorrow with very windy conditions.
